SAFE FOOD FOR CANADIANS REGULATIONS (SFCR)

Organic Sector Concerns Webinar

COTA hosted a webinar and information session for the organic industry on Tuesday, March 7th to discuss organic sector concerns regarding the upcoming Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR). Anyone interested in viewing the recording can download it here

COTA's SFCR Task Force have been working with our legal council over the past weeks to confirm the areas of concern discussed in the webinar. We call upon the industry to rally together to convey back to government the areas which will be detrimental to our sector should the Regulations move forth in its present state.

This is not a complete overhaul of the organic regulations and standards, however, the changes will still be numerous and potentially disruptive for organic operators and the industry.
